Princess Bubblegum found out that she was the incarnated modern-day "Candy Elemental". The elements in Adventure Time are different than the elements most people know on planet earth.
On earth, the elements are fire, water, earth, and air. On Adventure Time the elements are fire, ice, candy, and slime. She was told that other Elementals lived before her and that she is no the one who is alive and in charge at the present moment. She obviously has the greatest connection to candy since that is part of her DNA.
At one point, viewers are able to learn about the Fire Elemental too. Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the vampire queen have entered into a loving relationship! They were close friends before and it seemed like things were only platonic-- until they shared a kiss proving to everyone that there was more too their feelings than just friendship. They broke up before but they are back together and they definitely make each other happy. They are the type of couple that helps build each other up despite the fact that they used to fight a lot.
The Ice King has always had a creepy crush on Princess Bubblegum and that crush has led him down an even creepier path of kidnapping. Luckily for her, Finn and Jake take the time needed to rescue Princess Bubblegum from his clutches whenever Ice King tries to have his way. Ice King admitted that he only crushes on Princess Bubblegum so hard because she reminds him of his last ex-fiance who he would call "princess" as a nickname.
In " What Was Missing " when Bubblegum miscalculates the music needed to open the Door, Marceline says, "You're not as perfect as you thought, guess you can't judge me anymore", to which Bubblegum replies angrily and emotionally, "I never said you had to be perfect," hinting that whatever previous relationship the two had ended on bad terms. However, in the same episode, it is revealed that the item stolen from her was a t-shirt Marceline had given her, and it really means a lot to her she uses it as pajamas.
This admission causes Marceline to blush for the second time in the series. This episode resulted in much fan speculation about the nature of their relationship and Marceline's feelings for Princess Bubblegum. Lumpy Space Princess is mostly Princess Bubblegum's best friend. Despite their drastically different personalities, the two are often together and L.
P's seat and she gets mad at her, but that's probably L. P being herself. Princess Bubblegum is shown to have an outright hatred for the Duke of Nuts. Though this is all explained to be a relationship between the two in " The Duke ", Princess Bubblegum still loathes the Duke and distrusts him because he eats all the royal pudding.
However, Andy Ristaino has stated on his Formspring, in regards to PB possibly lessening her hatred towards the Duke, "Hatred dwindles over time.
One of the main characters in the series, the Ice King spends the great majority of his time obsessing over capturing and marrying princesses. His most targeted princess is Bubblegum, who is greatly annoyed with the Ice King's actions but generally seems to put up with them, mostly due to having Finn around to rescue her whenever the Ice King comes around.
As Finn is fighting The Lich , a powerful and evil sorcerer, the Ice King captures her, then clumsily drops her into the Lich's evil power source, corrupting her. However, he is still loyal enough towards her to help save her life after her broken body was possessed by The Lich to destroy Ooo. It is likely Bubblegum's temporary age change in " Mortal Recoil " had changed his interest towards her; once she becomes thirteen, he leaves through the window saying "Ah, dang it!
Well, I'm out of here. Goodbye everybody". However, since her return to the age of 18, he is once again interested, as seen quite clearly in Wizard Battle.
Princess Bubblegum's pet who recreated the antidote to cure the candy zombies in From Bad to Worse. Science also earned a medal for curing everyone. Princess Bubblegum is the beloved ruler of the Candy Kingdom. Though not much is said about her past, it is known that many of her relatives are famous suggested in the episode " Susan Strong ".
It is implied that Finn has saved Princess Bubblegum many times and vice versa as seen in the episode " Dungeon ". It also seems that she has had previous run-ins with Marceline, the Vampire Queen.
When she comes up against a female villain, the way she reacts to them depends on how powerful they are and how much of a threat she thinks they present. Princess Bubblegum may not always be in control of the plot, but she displays consistent intelligence, has flaws that hold her back, has a range of different hobbies, goals and beliefs and has some really interesting relationships with other female characters.

Another major weakness PB has is her obsessiveness, especially in regards to science. Flame Princess is not too happy about this it was the first episode that involved her in a story that did not involve her love life and calls out PB, prompting her to shut down her spy network. In the next episode, at another Candy Kingdom sleepover, PB tries to be more laid back and she spends time along with Finn, letting her subjects govern subjects until she is forced to restore order.

She has a flat stomach, and her outfit prominently shows off her midriff. She is able to eat a lot of food because she has nine stomachs inside her body to do all of the digesting. The nine stomachs are most likely why she is able to stay so thin and tiny! Plenty of human beings wish that they had what she has so that they could eat whatever they wanted without any repercussions.
The voice actor who does Starfire's voice also does the voice of Princess Bubblegum on the show Adventure Time. The voice actress is named Hynden Walch. Very easy because it requires a lot of personality and outspoken excitement. Hynden Walch is able to inject some fire into the innocent tone that is expected of Starfire's character.
She is also able to give Princess Bubblegum more of an attitude! It is pretty obvious that she is NOT a human being! She is an alien. Something a lot of people may not know about her now is the fact that she is also a princess. From her home planet Tamaran, she was destined to take on the throne and wear the crown.
Fate changed, and she ended up joining the Teen Titans instead of ruling over her home planet.
