Are there honey lifesavers

Researchers from the University of Manchester in UK have found that medicinal honey can actually destroy a fungus that causes blindness and even death in humans. For the study, scientists used different concentrations of a biologically modified honey, which produced chemically reactive molecules packed with oxygen.

The scientists then observed its effectiveness in killing a dangerous infection-causing fungus—fusarium. Found in plants and soil, fusurium can lead to life-threatening infections in people with weak immune systems and those who are vulnerable to infections.

At the end of the study, lead researcher Zain Habib Alhindi from Manchester University found that even small amounts of this honey was powerful enough to breakdown the cell walls of the fungus and could be used as a potent medicine in future treatments. Through my research I wanted to show the potential for honey as a healing agent to break through the biofilms thin layers of microorganisms that group together , and in doing so increase the process of healing.
